Artists interviews, artists archives

The Kröller-Müller Museum is involved with the project "Aritsts interviews, Aritsts archives", initiated and coordinated by the Foundation for the Conservation of Modern Art (SBMK) in collaboration with the Netherlands Institute for Cultural Heritage (ICN). Conversations with artists are regarded more and more as an essential part of the conservation practice of modern and  contemporary art.
Artists who work in the Netherlands have been interviewd about the artmakingprocess and their use of materials in relation to the meaning of their work to tackle conservation issues typical of modern art conservation. Data about the artist and the artworks have been gathered from the archives of participating museums and additional information has been gained by talks with experts on the particular artist or type of art.
