Arte Povera, literally translated ‘poor art’, is the name given to a group of around 15 Italian artists and their work in the late 1960s. The word povera stands for these artists’ intention to rid themselves, their visual material and the observer of unnecessary baggage in images and text.

Arte poveraThe work of eight of these artists is on display in the exhibition: Giovanni Anselmo, Luciano Fabro, Jannis Kounellis, Mario Merz, Giulio Paolini, Giuseppe Penone, Michelangelo Pistoletto en Gilberto Zorio.
