“ODILON REDON STIMULATES ALL THE SENSES WITH HIS SYMPHONIC PAINTING.”
The exhibition comprises 167 works from an important private collection, the museum’s own extensive Redon collection and a number of key pieces from other collections. This enables La littérature et la musique to offer an unprecedented view of the breadth and variety of themes in Redon’s body of work, from his powerful black-and-white lithographs to the radiant, colourful pastels.
“There are no real predecessors to be found, except perhaps among the musicians and certainly among the poets.”
“I was born on a wave of sound.”
