colour drawing of a kind of astronaut with technical calculations, by PanamarenkoArtists incorporate their fascination with the cosmos into their work in various ways. It is almost unfathomable, the mystery of infinity and the relationship of ‘our’ Earth to other planets, to celestial bodies, to everything that occurs between heaven and Earth.

The presentation includes a new acquisition by Alan Saret: Zinc Cloud (1967, 1990), which is on display at the museum for the first time. This ‘ethereal’ cloud of steel mesh appears to rise up and detach itself from the earth. The works of Adam Colton and Cai Guo-Qiang refer to the origins of the universe, the creation of Earth and forms of life. You will also see work by Jean Arp, Panamarenko, Georges Vantongerloo, Otto Piene, Marinus Boezem and Hetty Huisman, among others.
