Salon presentation with Fantin-Latour and others
Carice van Houten has made a salon presentation, with works mainly by Henri Fantin-Latour, as well as paintings by George Breitner, Isaac Israels, Jan Sluijters and Jan Veth. Carice regards her presentation as a wistful and romantic collage.
Hidden Artworks
De Wereld Draait Door together with some of its regular guests install work from the depots of eleven Dutch museums in nine spaces. This time the theme is again: Hidden Artworks.
The nine guest curators are all assigned a museum, to search for hidden artworks in the depots. Each guest curator together with their museum has one gallery in the Allard Pierson Museum, a gallery to be filled entirely according to the guest curator’s own idea and taste. The Allard Pierson Museum is the archaeology museum of the University of Amsterdam.
The DWDD Pop-Up Museum is supported by the Mondriaan Fund, the BankGiro Lottery and the Amsterdams Universiteitsfonds. For this edition, the NRC Handelsblad is once again publishing a special pop-up newspaper. The DWDD Pop-Up Museum is open until 22 May 2016.
For information about opening hours and prices please go to the website of the Allard Pierson Museum.
