Yara Cavalcanti Araujo and Melchior Otte have been collecting graphic art by sculptors since 1998. What began with the purchase of an etching by Eduardo Chillida has grown into an extraordinary collection of works on paper.
This beautifully complements the museum's collection of sculptures and sculptors' drawings. A wide variety of graphic techniques reveals how sculptors visualise concepts such as form, proportion, space, location and emptiness. From etchings by Eugène Dodeigne, inkjet prints by Ulrich Rückriem and lithographs by Lynn Chadwick to screen prints by Louise Nevelson and Mark di Suvero. Several extraordinary artists' books are also on display in the exhibition.
