Jos Kruit (1945) was born and raised in the north of the Netherlands. At a later stage in life she decides to become an artist. Her rural background remains visible in her art. For example when she clothes works of plastic with real animal skin.
Contrast plays an important role: natural materials versus synthetic materials, power versus elegance, symmetry and asymmetry. Untitled is a great example: a funnel shape is positioned slightly out of centre inside an interrupted circle. The red polyester looks pink due to the light, as if you are looking through pink skin.
